I'd been working on a new stretch the last few days to try and help the knee issue again and my last day to get to Annecy (recommended by the Bevans) proved successful as it was a absoltuely huge 120km day with a decent little climb and strong headwinds ALL day. I reckon it was equilavent of a 200km day with neutral conditions. definately biggest day of the trip so far. The knees were ok so while the ride was huge and tough (and bloody cold), I was comfortable on the bike so it was a great.
I've been pretty nervous about reaching the alps with dodgy knees but I'm much more confident now. aboit to leave Annecy for a short 40km day to reach Geneva, Switzerland, to attack a mountain or two. Hopefully they don't break me.
I always think of stuff to write here while riding throughout the day and then when I get to writing, nothing.
heres some pics
