The Climb - and swiss photos

So I dont consider myself too trigger happy with taking photos but Switzerland is just something else....

This is actually Annecy, France. Very pretty

France gave me some good weather on my last day

water jet in Geneva, Switzerland

This guy had a awesome paint job in his Z

Lake  Geneva

this gguy had this epic drone for his camera

lookout in lusanne. its based upon the idea of a DNA strand. each plank goes straight through the whole structure so the stairs you go up aren't the ones yougo down

camp spot outside (well not really) lusanne

H.R.Giger museum in gruyeres

the bar next door is all rigged out with alien gear

the long way back to montreux

5hr push marathon upmthe valley

how the other half do it

view from montreux towards rhone valley. where I headed

my thoughts on the landscape

new bar setup. much better

woke up, packed up, got on bike. had a flat.
unpack, get tools.

this little guy was the culprit

cant complain about the riding conditions!

the first of many hairpins

all the houses up the valley were built on stilts like this.....not sure why.

oh yeh, half way up the valley, it just changed to the german speaking part of switzerland. no notice, no geographic change, just like that.

camp spot at oberwald, end of the valley before the climb to furkapass

i can now say ive ridden my bike ON a train

climb from Andermatt to Oberalpass

Derek became the cameraman for an action shot

germans dont feel the cold

the road back down.

a bench. camping luxury

started the day with some mountain biking. not easy on touring bike.

realised the mtb trail went for 10km and was became impossible to ride on touring bike. diverted to train track. somewhat dodgy.

route back into the alps, scenery was so epic

this little mini horse was super keen to say hi

my target: Albulapass.
open for business

the weather went bad in the arvo and got mighty cold. camped at 1300m at Bergun.

camp grounds/shanty town at Bergun.

They have these resoviours all over the place along the hydro electric catchments, so in high demend times they just release the water to drive the turbines.

weather was less than pleasent

wild conditions.

I reached the summit and was freezing and would have looked as equally shithouse. I walked inside here (the door was wide open) and this bastard gets up off his seat, repeats 'closed closed' and physically pushes me out the door and closes it.... I gave him my thoughts in english but dont think he understood....

wow.
tough and exactly what i was asking for. (the weather I guess was karma).
my hands and feet were so cold they hurt.

the road down couldnt have gone quicker, first town was at about 1500m elevation. first thing i did was find a bar to ryn my hands under warm water..

i found the first camp groumd i could find to have a warm shower.
of course ive woken up today to a beautiful sunny day....
but at least nice to enjoy the remainder of the decent
